No farewell for us...

Last night, I (Bana) attended Beth's farewell at the Highland Country Club. According to the Army Officer's Handbook, a best seller and must read (kidding, of course), the hail and farewell is the most common social function. It is a time to welcome new officers and their spouses to the unit and say goodbye to those departing. We've already been to quite a few H&F's over the past month, and many more are planned throughout the spring and summer.

The women of 5-73 really formed an incredible bond over the course of the deployment, and quite a few tears were shed all around at the thought of leaving each other. While we're all happy to experience new adventures, it's hard to imagine that in two to three months, nobody will be left from the pre-deployment days. Unfortunately, we will be among the last to leave before the unit is stop-lossed in preparation for the next deployment.
