Camelot is found

The journey was long and arduous. Through fierce winds, scorching sun, and blistering heat we traveled. Somewhere in that concrete jungle was our future kingdom. We had been searching restlessly for weeks without success. Just when we thought all hope was lost, we found it. On April 5, 2008 we passed a bend in the road and saw what was to become our home. Our golden castle on the hill. Our Camelot.

Of course, the gold is actually brick. The castle is actually a 1948 colonial and the kingdom is about a fifth of an acre. It is no citadel, but a perfect home none the less.

Bana and I have found our house in Baltimore. Over the last month we have looked at about 30 houses. Two weeks ago, we thought we had found the right one. It was another colonial on the eastern side of the city. However, the sellers and their agent were so frustrating and ignorant that we decided to just walk away from the table. After that bad incident with sellers in Baltimore, we were almost ready to rent a place for the next few years. However, our agent Stacey is a dynamo and found some great houses for us to look at on Saturday.

As luck would have it, the first house we looked at was the best one. We fell in love at first sight and the other houses, while very nice, just didn't compare. This house's exterior is very similar to the first house we bid on, but the inside is totally updated. The yard is perfect for us. Even the interior paint is our style. So, we put a bid on the house and within one day had come to an agreement with the sellers (who luckily were very nice and had a very professional agent). Now I laugh at the first sellers we dealt with, because they just came crawling back trying to restart negotiations. HA! We found the same style house in a better neighborhood, in better condition, and for a better price. Destiny favors the intelligent.
