Late last month, I was selected to receive the Dr. Mary E. Walker Award, which is the highest honor given to a military spouse. The award is named after the only woman to ever be awarded the Medal of Honor. It was definitely a surprise, especially coming so soon after accepting the Iron Mike award. The presentation ceremony was tonight at Ft. Bragg.Nine other women also received the M.E.W. tonight, two of whom are in our squadron. I couldn't have made it through this deployment without the "5-73 posse." I hate knowing that we will soon scatter to the four corners of the world, but I know that we have formed friendships that will withstand the test of time. I count myself lucky to have women in my life.
